HEADIN’ SOUTH FOR A CURE

On the 1st of January 2013, the inaugural “Headin’ South for a Cure” charity bike ride will take to the road in Brisbane. Co-founders Tim McKay and Emma Weitnauer, along with eight of their colleagues will make up a crew of ten Tasmanian Firefighters, who will depart Brisbane on an epic fourteen day cycling journey south to Hobart. There will be no rest days and it is not a relay. The cyclists will average 160km of pedaling a day.

Their goal is to raise funds for research into finding a cure for cancer.

The Headin’ South crew have teamed up with the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF), with all money raised from the ride going directly to this amazing organisation.

The ACRF is dedicated to helping find a cure for cancer through the continued support of world-class research in Australia. They direct millions of dollars annually to fund cutting-edge research into this devastating disease, which affects one in three Australians. Most impressive, is their commitment that 100% of donations are directed straight to cancer research.

The Headin’ South for a Cure crew is aiming to raise $100, 000 for ACRF.
